Halitosis is a medical term for bad breath, a condition that affects thousands of people worldwide. There are many reasons that can trigger this ailment such as lack of oral hygiene, improper food consumption, severe oral dryness, tonsil stones, etc. No matter what the reasons may be, the source of the problem is always attributed to bacteria. Many nooks and crannies can be found in a person's mouth and they are the perfect haunts for bacteria to flourish. Additional dental works to the teeth can also add to the problem because they have the potential to create hard-to-reach spaces between the teeth and gums. You need to identify the source of bacteria that causes your halitosis condition so you may employ the necessary action to either prevent or cure the problem. If you have bad breath and absolutely no idea what the trigger factor is, the following information might help:
1. Periodontal pockets - Not interested in cleaning your teeth? Well, if that's the case, you should prepare for some serious plaque build-up! The accumulation of plaque below the gum line can lead to gum disease creating an opening between the bone of the tooth and the gum line. This opening is medically regarded as periodontal pockets and it is the source of bacteria growth. To avoid this problem, oral hygiene must be exercised scrupulously. If you're already affected by it, do not despair. Food particles may get stuck in the opening so try flossing regularly to remove them. It can be rather hard if its stuck way too deep so you might want to just kill off the bacteria using oral care products or natural home made remedies.
2. Capped teeth - Capping is an effective dental procedure for increasing the strength of one's teeth hence, it is no surprise that this method is highly sought after by many people with weak teeth structure. Since this method can restitute the shape of a tooth, many celebrities pay mega bucks to get their teeth capped in order to flash the perfect smile. Unfortunately, food particles can end up stuck underneath the caps causing decay and subsequently halitosis. No point having a well-aligned smile if is also the source of your bad breath right?
3. The tongue - Dental plaque can be found at the back portion of the tongue which is the major source of bad breath. If your tongue has silky smooth surface, flash a wide smile and thank your lucky stars because there is a big chance that you might not get affected by this embarrassing condition. According to various studies, people with grooved tongues (like me) are more prone to halitosis because such surface promotes a larger amount of coating hence amassing more bacteria. Use a tongue scraper to keep your tongue clean. It's a handy tool but not overly effective on its own. However, an added dose of home remedy formula can dramatically improve its effectiveness and help you rid of that odor-induced white coating on your tongue.
4. Partially erupted tooth - Bacteria that causes halitosis may also originate from a partially erupted tooth. This condition affects the position of the tooth, often in a manner which produces a deep spot for bacteria to reside. Whenever you clean your teeth, always spend some time to remove whatever food particles and debris that are stuck or trapped in this spot. Failure to do so will result in the accumulation of bacteria-rich plaque which can lead to an extremely bad breath.

That's a chilling joke about our situation and with the kids. They get the bad attitude from popular entertainment. I can't believe how disrespectful ads are – parents lying to kids and kids acting up.
Our voluntary military and the veterans grow up with honor and their service and sacrifice is unbelievable especially today when young kids are slackers.

Does anyone remember a movie from the 80s about kids building a spaceship?
I have been casually searching for this movie for a while. I remember watching this film as a kid…. it was probably from the mid-80s. Kids build this spaceship, I think out of stuff they find in a junkyard. They go to this other planet where this alien does a comedy routine. I remember the alien quoting TV commercials from earth saying “germs, germs that can cause bad breath, diariahh” Does anyone remember the name of this movie?

Really bad breath!!!?
I was talking to a kid at my school and he had bad breath ( I know it wasn’t mine) and for the rest of the day i stank like, his breath and I had the taste in my mouth. It was like this for a few days, i tried everythin brushing my teeth a lot, mouthwash, floss, mints, i even had my crap out (cause I heard that can cause bad breath). Then I guess it went away after awhile. Now its back and its the same smell and i hate it a lot just because it reminds me of the kid that I was talking to. I know your all gonna say bad breath is not contagious and go to your dentist, well my dentist doesn’t have an opening for awhile. I don’t know what to do.

Can someone help with my bad breath?
I brush my teeth twice a day. I have heard to brush your tongue especially because that’s where most of the bacteria that causes bad breath comes from. At school I rarely talk, and I guess that also helps cause my bad breath from my mouth being closed or something. We are not allowed to chew gum at school, so that is out. Some kids used to go after lunch and brush their teeth, but now we can’t anymore from people going in there and goofing off instead of brushing their teeth. So, does anyone have any suggestions? Also do those mouth fresheners that is like a thin piece of paper that you put in your mouth and it melts work? If so, I guess I could use some of those during school if I sneak them into my mouth and keep my mouth closed(which isn’t hard for me since I never get called on or talk much) until it melts.
Why does my 5 year old have such bad breath after her tonsillectomy?
She had a tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy 4 days ago. Granted, I let her get away with not brushing that first day after her surgery, but she’s been brushing everyday since. This evening, I decided to help her really scrub up and I noticed her tongue is completely coated and it won’t come off with vigorous brushing. She’s been on Tylenol with Codine (she was taking 2 tsp every 4 hours around the clock for the first 36 post-op hours and now just when she complains of pain) and one tsp. amoxollin twice a day. She’s still mouth breathing and drooling while she sleeps, I guess because everythings still swollen in there. But she’s not bleeding or running fever, so I don’t think there’s an infection that’s causing the odor. Anyway, just wanted to see if any other parents have had this issue with their kids.
Please, no rude or ridiculous answers. Remember that I’m talking about a 5 years old child, and inappropriate comments will be reported.
if she’s taking amoxollin or amoxocillin, it’s for an infection…usually. so maybe she just needs time to heal. i’d be worried if it last longer than a couple of weeks. don’t have her use mouthwash with alcohol though, that can make bad breath worse. good luck to you.
My daughter has bad breath at night with a little snoring. No obstructive sleep apnea.?
This sweet little angel of mine has some really bad breath after sleeping. Obviously not gingivitis, yet. What causes bad breath in kids during sleep? Daytime breath is fine.
Betty Boop, you appear to know exactly what I’m talking about!
Wicked whatever, are you serious? Why would I be so close to my daughter’s face when she is asleep? I’m sorry that you’ve lived a life that has left you with such issues.
I know what your talking about. Yes everyone has morning breathe but hers is worse Right? I had this same problem all my life ny mom did nothing just the brush your teeth sometimes 4 to 5 times a day to see if this helped. Guess what it didnt it was like I never brushed my teeth. I then had a girl same problem. Took her to the doctor when she was sick he looked at her tonsils and sent us to a specialist. when we seen him she wasnt sick anymore but her tonsils were huge. he asked if she snores, has bad breathe, wets the bed sometimes. If she is really groggy in the mornings. I said yes. He then looked in my mouth and out came two sets of tonsils. Now we dont have the nasty morning breathe (depending what we eat) no more snoring no more bed wetting for her and no more being groggy in the morning.
Look in her mouth and see how be her tonsils are this could be the problem.
